The Rules Of The Board

DG's Board Rules (all users must comply with these rules in oder to post):

1. No offensive language: This one's a given: I don't want people to feel they can't come here because they're going to be offended. Save the rude comments for at home. Also, trying to "cheat" the forum's bad word filter is not allowed. For example, if "blun" was a bad word: unacceptable: b l u n, b_l_u_n, b1un, b!un, etc.

2. Respect other people's opinions: Disagreement is fine, but do not say "so and so's a moron" just because they don't agree with you. Defining people by their tastes is wrong and only serves to undermine the whole experience of the debate. You are not "better" than someone because your tastes are different from theirs: every opinion matters. You can state your side and say why you took the side you do and not the other side presented, but respect the fact someone else disagrees with you and accept that. Disagree, yes, but don't belittle others because of those disagreements.

3. Advertising: Is only allowed in the "Advertising" forum. Any other advertisments, which include "spam" and users' Sites, are not allowed. Users are allowed to post links to Sites they own in the other forums, provided what they write has something to do with the topic.

4. No off-topic posts: If someone starts a topic and you're responding, you have to remain on topic. If the subject was "what did you think of Nelly's new album?" and you start to talk about how The Clash broke up, your post will be deleted for being off-topic.

5. Please use PROPER English only. This isn't to say that grammar and spelling must be tip-top, but it must at least be readable.

6. Any posts that "stretch" the board will be deleted. This includes "quote bombs", massive pictures, one really long word (e.g. uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...), etc.

7. Spamming: Some areas of these boards are restricted to those with a specific post count. However, posting multiple times "just to get to the post count" (i.e., they do not contribute to the discussions) will be deleted post-haste and the user banned.

8. Illegal operations: Not allowed here. Asking for, or providing, illegal ROMs, MP3s or any other illegally downloaded file is not acceptable here. Also, any post that is about an illegal act- like rape or promoting sex with a minor- counts as offensive language and will not be allowed here.

9. Usernames: MUST be appropriate or else the user will be banned posthaste. NO EXCEPTIONS.

10. Baning users: For violations of rules 7, 8 and 9, the user will banned immediately without any consideration. For the other rules, the user is given two (2) strikes within a six month period before the user is banned. I will be keeping track of this and a comment warning the user about the strike will be issued underneath the offending comment by the forum's administrators.

Nice, What exactly kind of board is this? I got this link from a sports site... Anyway hope you get some more people join bud.

It's an "everything board": you can talk about anything here. I replaced a World Issues Page with this board, which also doubles as a message board for a Music Site I run.
